Brian, I try not to be, but I do like to help others. The biggest thing that has helped my sanity lately is implementing business hours and making others stick to them. I feel like it sets expectations. I notice that time team is being more respectful of it.

Rule number one really is the solution:1. Stay in control of your feelings. This is difficult, but take the criticism professionally and not personally. Don’t allow your anger or hurt to show. Instead of letting their words get to you, try thanking them for their feedback.

My boss recently said I lacked Passion, and without it I would fail at Nucor.
When I defined Passion as: The emotions as distinguished from reason, intense, driving, or overmastering feeling or conviction, an outbreak of anger. This is a mirror of his behavior.

After see my definition he said his definition was: A strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything: a passion for music.
This by the way defines me.
Keep up the great work and thanks for listening.

How beautifully written! What a positive way to get my morning in high gear. I so enjoyed your presentation Saturday at the FHTM meeting in Concord. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Management: Is nearly just managing numbers and doing the daily required functions to keep the business going.

Leadership: Is leading by example. Do it yourself, if you want others to do it. Leadership requires motivation and inspiration to the members of your team / organization. Leaders are seeked upon, because people know they are willing to help. Leadership means hands on!

A leader is the person who forges the new path. That identifies the directions, plans out the initial strategy for how to get there, and begins guiding the followers down that unknown path to get to some expected end.

A manager is the person who takes over afterwards and maintains the path (systems, processes, people) that make the path something that can be continually traveled. Sometimes this person is the same person at different points in time.
